Since 2006 Success Sportfishing has been operating private fly down fly back trips out of the remote port of San Carlos in BCS Mexico on the Pacific side in full compliance with rule and regulations of both Mexico City and the United States Coast Guard. Grateful to have this privilege we have formed relationship with local fisherman and commerce in the area that allows us to provide you with a unique fishing experience paralleled by no other.
Traveling from stateside to Magdalena Bay there are regular flights into both Loreto and La Paz that Hub from LAX, Phoenix and the CBX in Tiajuana. Once on the ground our shuttle service will meet you outside your arrival gate and get you in route to San Carlos to meet the crew and boat. Travel time from the gulf side of baja to the boat can range from 2.5 – 3.5 hours depending on your point of origin. Upon arrival to the boat dinner will be prepared and waiting as the crew assist in loading any gear you may have brought along. Success is sponsored by both Seeker and Avet and the boat is outfitted with 2 speeds from 20# – 200# line, all spectra backed and plenty for everyone to have light, mediums, and heavy out fit to meet the requirements of what we are fishing at the time. During your trip we will have live bait (sardines / mackerel) available for fly line fishing along with the boat’s supply of jigs, wahoo bombs, 6X JRs, sinkers, hooks and Nomad and Marauders to troll with. These trips are set up for the angler to travel light and worry free, however if you do have gear to bring its easy enough to do and happy to make recommendations. We do offer (included at no extra cost) 50#s of your catch vacuum packed and prepared for transport in the recommended soft side cooler. Based on most flights you will arrive to the boat that evening or late afternoon, when all aboard we will make way to the fishing grounds to have you on scene that night or first thing in the morning. Generally offshore for the duration of the trip we have the flexibility and range to fish multiple species over multiple days and nights, yes there can be incredible night bites on yellowtail, yellowfin tuna and grouper. The trip will terminate back in San Carlos on the morning of scheduled return date and in time if you have flights the day of. Hotels and accommodations can be arranged for stay at either end of your trip.
What is included ?
3 chef inspired meals with AM snacks and PM snack / appetizer prior to dinner per each full day. Seeker and Avet rod and reel setups and available tackle. Mexican fishing permit for duration of your trip, the transportation to and from Loreto or La Paz based on 1 trip per group each way. Vaccuum packed processed fish catch up to 50# per person based on 6 in your group, shower towels and beverages.
What is not included ?
Not included in charter price is the airfare and any baggage fees accrued during transportation. Gratuities (15-20% ) based on how you felt you were served and accommodated. Any fish processing over the 300 #s included will be 2.00 per # based on finished product up to an additional 300 #s. Lost or damaged fishing rods or reels terminal tackle excluded. Alcohol other than beer can be requested prior to the Success leaving San Diego and reimbursement can be arranged. All and any payment requested or advertised are cash or check prices credit card or debit card charges will incur a 3.75% service fee. Credit or debit cards currently not available for processing on the boat. at this time.
Reservation and cancelation
Reservations can be made by contacting Cary or Erika at Success Sport Fishing – 760-230-6331. All reservations for charter are considered tentative until 25% deposit is received. In the event of cancellation notice must be received in writing by the charter master 180 days prior to date of scheduled departure. If the written notice of cancellation is received prior to the 180 days before departure deposits will be transferable for a later date aboard the Success for up 365 days of original scheduled departure date with a 15% re booking fee. For cancelations in which notice is NOT received within 180 days the deposit will be forfeited, unless charter dates are re booked and full payment received and a 15% admin fee will be deducted from remainder of refund.
